Something Interesting offers a suite of fine digital collectibles for the discerning collector. Here we describe the taxonomy and availability of the various SI-NFTs:
Patron NFTs
Editor NFTs
Past NFTs
All of these programs are subject to abrupt change as fees rise and fall on various platforms. I’ll do my best to keep this page up to date.
Patron NFTs: The First 50
For contributors at the Patron of the Snarks subscriber level receive an NFT representing the Something Interesting article of their choice from among those that have not yet been claimed. For example:
The description of the NFT contains a link to the relevant article and a short note with some thoughts I have about that particular post. Each is a 1 of 1 and is stored on the Ethereum blockchain (L1).1 Ownership of a Patron NFT entitles the holder to a special role on the Something Interesting discord.
Editor NFTs: Technically Correct
Everyone who helps me improve by pointing out an error or sharing a better source with me is an honorary Something Interesting editor and an NFT recognizing their contribution. For smaller improvements like typos or spelling/grammar mistakes I offer a TECHNICALLY CORRECT Polygon NFT:
TECHNICALLY CORRECT is a collection of 100/100 NFTs. After having been caught in my 100th mistake I will create a new edition of 100 using a different design.
For larger assists like materially correcting the thrust of a story, spending significant time explaining nuance or background in an area you are expert in or providing more information or better sources for a story will receive a 1 of 1 L1 Ethereum NFT representing their specific correction.
Past NFTs
Earlier editions of the program started on Ethereum (L1) directly and included 1/1 unique Editor NFTs that described individual corrections and had a different design for corrections submitted by draft reviewers on the Discord before publication.
This is subject to change as Ethereum fees rise.
